V-Ray SP3 New Features

Linear Workflow
*A new option in color mapping
*Enables you to work in Gamma 2.2
*All colors and textures in the scene will be automatically converted to the appropriate gamma

Mesh Based Lights
*Create a light source from an object
*Different from Light Material
*The object will be sampled as a real light
*Create proper soft shadows and caustics



VRayLightMtl as direct light
*Options to turn any object with a given VRayLightMtl material into a direct light source
*The object will be sampled as a real light
*Create proper soft shadows and caustics


Environment fog
*A new atmospheric effect
*A volumetric effect that accurately simulates light scattering in atmosphere
*Use to simulate the effect of dust particles or water mist in the atmosphere


Vector Displacement
*Uses an RGB texture for displacement
*In addition to displacing the geometry along the surface normal it can be also displaced in the U and V directions

Other Features
*Import V-Ray Proxy as editable mesh
*Support for the 3ds Max Arch & Design materials
*Region rendering directly in the V-Ray VFB

Improved Features
*Irradiance Map
-Further reduction of flicker in animations
*Camera Overrides
-spherical, box etc work with exposure from VRayPhysicalCamera
*Render Elements
-MultiMatte, VRayExtraTex and VRayZDepth work with transparency
*DR improvements
-Support for the incremental modes of the irradiance map
